Cluj County Council's commitment to stimulate investment and to enhance industrial diversification in 2001 highlighted the fact that it was high time to develop a high-tech Industrial Park and to utilize the highly qualified workforce existent in the area. The total area of reclaimed land is 50 ha. Cluj Industrial Park takes up 19.4ha. The rest of the terrain up to the 50 ha limit is meant for future development. The 19.4 hectare site has 14.6 hectares available, consisting of 5 types of lots comprising Zone 1 of 3 fenced land parcels and Zone 2 of 19 fenced land parcels - all ranging from 3500 to 9500 square meters. The other 4.8 ha are the access roads, infrastructure items and grass plots. The structural area of the park (the 19.4 ha) is available for leasing up a maximum period of 49 years. The main target industries in our sight are the ones belonging to the high-tech sector (i.e. software development, networking, hardware components manufacturing and so on) S.C. TETAROM S.A. is the company set up to manage the Industrial Park. The name of the company comes from the name of " Transylvania - Equipment and Advanced Technologies manufactured in ROMania". It was set up as a private company in December 2001. The main shareholder of TETAROM is Cluj County's Council. Cluj County's Council is also the owner of the land.
